Fast-acting cops chased down and arrested a deranged homeless lunatic in Upper Manhattan on Wednesday after he ruthlessly beat an 89-year-old woman.

According to police sources, the 32-year-old suspect attacked the octogenerian in front of a doctor’s office located at 565 West 125th St. in Harlem at around 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 28.

Authorities say the brute punched the woman in an unprovoked attack that caused her face to smash into a wall, leaving her with a laceration and a knot to her head.

Meanwhile, police reported that a witness spotted a passing police vehicle with officers assigned to the 26th Precinct en route to investigate car thefts in the area. The witness flagged the officers down, frantically explaining the assault.

The officers quickly jumped into action and chased the fleeing suspect before apprehending him and placing him under arrest.

Meanwhile, the victim was rushed to Saint Luke’s Hospital and listed in stable condition.

On Thursday, police identified the perpetrator as Eron Cruz; he was charged with assault of a person over the age of 65. He had two active warrants at the time of his arrest.

Sources familiar with the investigation report that Cruz is no stranger to law enforcement and has been arrested this year for a similar unprovoked attack on a senior.

On Aug. 7, at approximately 9:35 a.m., Cruz is said to have approached a 64-year-old female at the intersection of Broadway and West 72nd Street when he shoved her to the ground, causing her to suffer injuries to her back.

In January 2022, at the intersection of Saint Nicholas Avenue and West 145th Street, he was cuffed after he repeatedly smacked the buttocks of a 29-year-old commuter aboard a Bx19 bus.

While he has four prior arrests overall, Cruz has had 33 documented cases of mental health incidents.
