One person was killed and at least three others were injured in a shooting that happened at a New Jersey vigil, according to a report.

Mourners in Elizabeth had gathered to remember a man who was killed around seven years ago when shots rang out at around 8:30 p.m. Monday, CBS New York reported.

“A lot of shots were fired,” a witness told WABC.

One so-far unidentified person was pronounced dead at the scene, while three others were injured, according to the report, citing officials.

Two people were shot in the arms and legs, while one was shot in the chest. They were rushed to University Hospital in Newark. Their conditions are currently unknown.

Investigators are also probing a red car that fled the scene and was found burned out around four miles away.

They are investigating whether the car is linked to the shooting.

No arrests have been made, according to reports.
