Detectives in the Bronx are looking to track down the suspect who raped and robbed a woman last month. Police want to talk to Ajene Nelson, 24, who is being sought in connection with sexually assaulting a 24-year-old woman inside a home near the corner of Jerome Avenue and Marcy Place in Mount Eden at around 1 a.m. on Sept. 29.

Law enforcement sources said Nelson and the victim were acquaintances and appeared to be in some relationship when the attack occurred. According to law enforcement sources, the suspect raped the victim at the location, then stole her cellphone, which is valued at around $1,000. The incident was reported to the 44th Precinct . EMS rushed the woman to Lincoln Hospital for treatment; she was listed in stable condition. Police sources said Nelson has three prior arrests on his record, including a collar for shoplifting in the confines of the 79th Precinct in Brooklyn back on Aug. 26 of this year. He was also picked up in April 2022 in Brooklyn's 77th Precinct for a domestic burglary, and he was arrested again in May 2025 for violating a court order of protection in Manhattan's 25th Precinct.
