Police from the 108th Precinct in Long Island City are looking for a suspect who allegedly slashed a man in the face in front of the old Z Hotel at 11-01 43rd Ave. in Hunters Point during the early morning of Saturday, Oct. 17.

The 34-year-old victim was attempting to disperse a rowdy group of men who had been partying in the Lost in Paradise rooftop bar at around 2:20 a.m. when one of them pulled out a sharp object and slashed him across his face. The perpetrator ran off in an unknown direction.

EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to New York-Presbyterian/Wrill Cornell Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition. An NYPD spokesperson could not say if the victim is an employee of the Lost in Paradise nightclub.

The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspect, who has a medium complexion with black hair and was last seen wearing a white sweatshirt over a black T-shirt, light-colored pants and a white and black Chicago White Sox baseball cap.

A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to his arrest and indictment. Anyone with information regarding this assault investigation is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging on to the Crime Stoppers website at crimestoppers.nypdonline.org or on X (the platform formerly known as Twitter) @NYPDTips. All calls and messages are strictly confidential.

Through Oct. 18, the 108th Precinct has reported 253 felony assaults so far in 2026, nine more than the 244 reported at the same point last year, an increase of 3.7%, according to the most recent CompStat report.
