‘It was my life': Woman fights off 3 who jump her during Central Park bike ride

"They hit me, and I just felt it, and the first thought in my mind, it was like, my family, my mom, it was my life. So I fought back," she said.

Police said the woman was riding her bike when a trio of suspects launched in attack. NBC New York's Romney Smith reports.

Police are looking for three men they say attacked a woman who had been riding her bicycle in Central Park Sunday night.

Cops say the trio approached the 32-year-old woman near West 93rd Street and West Drive around 10 p.m. and hit her in the head.

She says she fought back, getting two punches in before one suspect grabbed her bag, which had her watch and headphones inside, and told the others to book it.

They ran off toward Columbus Avenue.

The victim had minor injuries to her face, neck, and back, but refused medical attention at the scene, authorities said. In those first few moments, she says she thought about her loved ones.

"They hit me, and I just felt it, and the first thought in my mind, it was like, my family, my mom, it was my life. So I fought back," the woman said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
